House Rules and Informations

Welcome to your home!

To ensure a pleasant stay for all guests and to maintain a harmonious environment in the neighborhood, we ask that you respect the following rules:

1. Check-in and Check-out Times

• Check-in: From 15:00

Guests may access the property from 3 PM. If you need an early check-in, please contact us in advance. The availability of early check-in is subject to the property's preparation and may incur additional costs.

Check-out: Until 11:00

We request that check-out is done by 11 AM. If you need to extend your stay or have a late check-out, please inform us as soon as possible. This request will depend on availability and may incur additional charges.

2. Tourist Tax

According to local regulations, a tourist tax of 2 euros per person, per night, is charged for guests over the age of 13, up to a maximum of 7 consecutive nights. This tax is not included in the reservation amount and must be paid at check-in.

3. Private and Common Areas

Private Area: Each apartment has a private use area located in front of the apartment door. This area is exclusively for the use of guests of that apartment.

• Common Areas: The remaining garden area is freely accessible and can be used by all guests. We ask that you respect the space and other guests while enjoying these areas.

4. In case of an Emergency Call 112

• For emergency services (ambulance, police, fire) please call 112 immediately. In case of an evacuation please Exit the apartment as quickly as possible and ensure that all guests leave the building. After you have reported the emergency (112) please contact us.

In case of a small fire the apartment is equipped with a fire extinguisher and fire blanket.

5. Cleaning and Care for the Property

• Please keep the house clean and in good condition. Any damage to the property will be charged.

• When leaving, make sure to dispose of waste in the designated areas and that appliances are turned off.

6. Use of Bath Towels

• The available bath towels are intended for drying off after bathing. To maintain the quality of the towels, we ask that they not be used to clean shoes or other dirt.

• If you need appropriate utensils for cleaning hiking boots, please do not hesitate to ask. We will be happy to help!

Towel Replacement: We provide towel replacement every 3 days of stay, upon request via message, indicating which towels should be replaced. These will be delivered on the same day or, at the latest, the following morning. If you are not home, the towels will be left outside the apartment entrance.

Attention: Makeup and sunscreen, even if invisible, can stain towels. We ask that you be careful when using them.

7. Care When Leaving and Property Security

Before you head out on your excursions, we ask that you:

Close all windows to ensure the security of the property. When you leave, please ensure that all doors and windows are properly closed and locked.

Gather outdoor umbrellas and cushions. The weather on Madeira Island can change unexpectedly, so it's important to protect the furniture and ensure safety.

Do not share keys or access codes with third parties.

• In case of lost keys or any security issues, please inform us immediately. It is important to maintain the security of the property and guests.

8. Rules of Conduct

• We ask all guests to respect each other, maintaining a calm and harmonious environment.

Avoid excessive noise, especially during the night, and respect the common areas so that everyone can enjoy their stay.

• Under Portuguese law Quiet Hours are between 23:00 and 07:00

9. Prohibition of Parties and Events

Parties or events are not allowed on the property. This policy is to ensure the comfort and safety of all guests and neighbors. Any violation of this rule may result in the termination of the stay without refund.

10. Smoking Not Allowed

This is a non-smoking property. Smoking inside the house is strictly prohibited. Please use appropriate outdoor areas if necessary and dispose of waste responsibly.

11. Pets

Pets are only allowed with prior authorization. If there is no authorization, the presence of pets may result in additional charges.

15. Filming and Photography for Commercial Purposes

Filming or photography for commercial purposes on the property is not allowed without prior authorization from the host. If you are interested in conducting such activities, please contact us to discuss the terms and obtain the necessary authorization.

16. Conscious Use of Water and Electricity

Please be mindful of the amount of water and electricity you use. Hot water is limited, so we ask that you use it responsibly.

Arco de São Jorge, named for its arch-shaped hills, became a parish in 1676 after separating from São Jorge. Colonized between the late 15th and early 16th centuries, it’s one of northern Madeira’s most fertile areas, known for sugarcane production.
